Scrolling Children Movie Premieres at Cineworld Our Harlow and Bishop’s Stortford Primary and Chicks classes recently had a very special day. The movies they created over the past 2 terms were shown on the big screen at the Cineworld Cinema in Edinburgh Way Harlow. The premiere was a red  carpet event which meant that students dressed to impress as they made their way in to the cinema. The Harlow movie premiered at 10.15am and was followed by the Bishop’s Stortford version at 11.30am. This meant that screen 4 at Cineworld was packed out twice during the morning screenings. Senior And Intermediate Showcase 2023 Our Senior and Intermediate students have worked hard for 2 terms, the result being that their annual showcase was a huge success. The showcase took place at South Mill Arts in Bishop’s Stortford, which meant that all students had the opportunity to perform in a professional environment. Our Intermediate students presented a cautionary tale entitled The Hoki. The short play told the story of 3 young teenagers who are convicted of unruly behaviour and sent to a prison camp in a desert. Summer Phoenix Fun for European Students Phoenix Film and Theatre School are running drama sessions at Bishops Stortford College this summer. The sessions are part of the International Summer School that takes place at the venue from early July until mid-August. Our school is delighted to be contracted to supply the performing arts element of the course. Hundreds of students aged 12 to 18 from across Europe take part in the Summer School throughout the six-week duration. Phoenix students gain places in the National Youth Theatre No less than 3 Phoenix Senior students have gained places at the prestigious National Youth Theatre. Teddy Pope, Zach Martin and Max Jones will all be off to the University of Northampton for two weeks in early August to train with other talented young performers from all over the UK. New Venue for Primary Students in Bishop’s Stortford We have some exciting news for the primary section of our theatre school in Bishop’s Stortford. The school is moving to a new venue from this Wednesday (28th April 2021). The school will be moving to All Saints Primary School on Parsonage Lane in Bishop’s Stortford with all classes held at the same time. The new venue is a stones throw from our Intermediate and Senior classes, held at Birchwood High School, located on the same road.
